1999-2006 Volvo S80 (P2) Sedan
- First generation S80
- First car on Volvo's P2 platform
- First "networked" Volvo, with different systems' control modules in the car communicating with each other on a high-speed CAN-BUS data network.
- USA models equipped with 5- and 6-cylinder engines:
- "Base": naturally aspirated 2.9L inline six (badged as "3.0L" in early cars), FWD with a 4-speed automatic
- T6: twin turbo 2.8L (later 2.9L) inline six, FWD with a 4-speed automatic
- 2.5T: light pressure turbo 2.5L inline five, FWD or AWD with a 5-speed automatic
- Sold in the USA from 1999 through 2006.
2007-2016 Volvo S80 (P3) Sedan
- Second generation S80
- First car on Volvo's P3 platform, co-developed with Ford and Jaguar/Land Rover as the EUCD platform
- USA models equipped with 4-, 6-, and 8-cylinder engines:
- V8: naturally aspirated 4.4L V8, AWD with a 6-speed automatic
- 3.2: naturally aspirated 3.2L inline six, FWD or AWD with a 6-speed automatic
- T6: turbo 3.0L inline six, AWD with a 6-speed automatic
- T5: turbo 2.0L inline four, FWD with an 8-speed automatic
- Sold in the USA from 2007 through 2016
