1998-2000 Volvo V70 (P80)
- First generation V70, essentially a "facelifted" 850, based on the Volvo P80 platform
- 5-door station wagon counterpart to S70 midsize sedan
- Sold in the USA from 1998 through 2000 model year
- USA models were available with an inline 5 cylinder gasoline engine with normally aspirated or turbocharged variants
- USA models were available in FWD or AWD and manual or automatic transmissions
- High performance V70R model, available in the USA with AWD and automatic transmissions only
2001-2007 Volvo V70 (P2)
- Second generation V70
- Five door station wagon based on the Volvo P2 platform
- Wagon counterpart to S60 midsize sedan
- USA models were available with naturally aspirated, low-pressure turbo, and high-pressure turbo variants of Volvo's "white block" inline five gasoline engine
- USA models were available in FWD or AWD and 5- and 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions
- High performance V70R trim available with 300hp and AWD
- Cross Country trim available with AWD, increased ride height, and rugged plastic fender flares and trim
2008-2010 Volvo V70 (P3)
- Third generation V70, based on the Volvo P3 platform
- Wagon counterpart to S80 sedan and slightly larger than the outgoing V70, with the new V60 taking its place as Volvo's midsize station wagon
- USA models were available with Ford SI6 "short six" 3.2 naturally aspirated or 3.0 "T6" turbo inline six gas engines
- USA models were available only with the TF-80 6-speed automatic
- FWD or Haldex AWD
