Product Description
Volvo's Yamaha-designed 4.4 narrow-angle V8 uses a timing chain instead of a timing belt, so all you can see when you're looking at the side of the engine is the serpentine belt. Timing chains are theoretically maintenance-free...but sometimes the chain tensioners fail, or you might have to pull the timing chain in order to reach the balance shaft nestled in the vee of the engine.
If you're doing that kind of work (or if you're just playing whack-a-mole with leaks), this timing cover reseal kits includes Genuine Volvo Volvo gaskets and an Original Equipment Supplier to Volvo front crankshaft seal.
Additional Technical Information
The timing chain cover sits between the oil pan on the bottom of the engine and the ends of the valve covers at the top of the engine; to remove the timing cover, the valve covers must also be removed. See Recommended Products below for the valve cover gasket kit.
