Electric Power Steering Pump, Early Version - P1 S40 V50 C70

This remanufactured power steering pump by CRP's steering specialist division AAE is a quality replacement if you're having power steering issues like a "steering service required" warning or sudden increases in steering effort. If you still see a "steering service required" message after installing the new pump, you may also need a software update in Volvo's dealer-level diagnostic software, VIDA.

Additional Technical Information

Early P1-chassis Volvos have power steering pumps with the fluid reservoir near the coolant reservoir on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Later cars have the reservoir built in to the top of the power steering pump, accessible by pulling the headlight retaining pin and popping the headlight out; look for the reservoir or check our fitment notes below to determine if you have an early or later style of pump.

The split between early (external reservoir) and later (integrated reservoir) pumps is in the 2006 model year. Please check the last six digits of your car's VIN before ordering.
