IPD has been supplying engine skid plate protection for better than 20 years now. While the standard P3 IPD aluminum plate at two and a half millimeters thick is good protection for most seasonal and unexpected debris encountered on your daily commute, some drivers that go places a little less travelled have asked for a tougher version more focused on adventure style usage. This is certainly something that is near to our hearts as we use our own vehicles for more all around purposes around the Great Northwest. This new adventure version is more than twice the thickness (nearly 6mm) and weight for added peace of mind in less than ideal conditions.

This beefier design still attaches to the factory mounting points with single tool removal and install. Now you can be more confident in the protection of your delicate underpinnings while you enjoy your next adventure.

Additional Technical Information

Kit includes replacement bolts + washers to use in place of the original splash pan's T25 torx bolts + washers. As you're cutting new threads in to the subframe nutserts with these bigger bolts, they will take some force to screw in to place.

The front left/right mounting points are slightly recessed in to the subframe. Use the two longer bolts and the black spacers for these "wing" mounting points.

Product Fitment Notes & Potential Issues

This skid plate can be installed on cars with the 2.0 4cyl "VEA" engine, but the service holes for things like the oil drain plug and oil filter won't line up; you will have to drop and reinstall the skid plate with every oil change.
