Electronic Throttle Body Module

Volvo's early foray in the use of electronic throttle bodies was somewhat troublesome. The first couple production years utilized units that were somewhat inherently flawed. Over time these issues became more apparent and Volvo updated the whole module. If you are a proud owner of some of these 1999-2001 Volvos you may well already be aware of this... Thankfully XemodeX has fully re-engineered these thottle bodies and fixed all the issues with updated technology. 

XemodeX rebuilt throttle bodies feature:

• Contact-less TPS upgrade zero wear hall-effect dual throttle position sensor - Designed and built by XeMODeX . This contact-less TPS design eliminates any friction related TPS failures.
• Stainless steel bearings upgrade - Regular steel bearings are upgraded to stainless steel material to better withstand corrosion.
• Re-worked ECU - All fragile aluminum wire bonds inside the ECU are replaced with reliable copper bonds to prevent future joint failures.
• Rebuilt magnet assembly - The magnets inside the DC motor are completely overhauled and sealed to prevent moisture penetration and subsequent corrosion.

Please note this is a "virgin" rebuilt throttle body module that is not loaded with software. You'll need to have your local Volvo dealer (or independent mechanic with a current VIDA subscription) load software for your specific Volvo.

Product Fitment Notes & Potential Issues

Volvo used 2 different throttle body assemblies on these models. 1999-2001 S70, V70, XC70, S60, and S80 models all used Magneti Marelli units. 2003+ models used Bosch units. 2002 was a crossover year so you must inspect which style your car is equipped with. 

This throttle body module fits cars equipped with Magneti Marelli throttle bodies.
