Phenolic Throttle Body Spacer - 1999-2002

Installation of the IPD throttle body spacer or isolator will help lower the throttle body temperature on your car. This can deliver improvements in performance and efficiency over an engine with a hotter throttle body. It is also possible to increase the service life of your expensive throttle body module by lowering the average operating temperature. Decreasing the temperature of any component in the intake system can help lower intake air temperatures, allowing your car to run more efficiently. Lower intake temperatures will also allow your car to maximize it’s built in self tuning abilities.

The IPD G10 industrial laminate phenolic resin spacer works to isolate the throttle body from the hot intake manifold. Phenolic material is best for this kind of application since it is stable and consistent over a wide range of operating temperatures. This kit includes the spacer, gaskets and hardware for basic do-it-yourself installation.

Product Fitment Notes & Potential Issues

Volvo used 2 different throttle body assemblies on these models. 1999-2001 S70, V70, XC70, S60, and S80 models all used Magneti Marelli units. 2003+ models used Bosch units. 2002 was a crossover year so you must inspect which style your car is equipped with. 

This kit fits early, Magneti Marelli equipped units.
