Customer Service Representative - Portland, OR

We’re currently hiring for full time and part time positions in our Customer Service department. . 

IPD is a 50+ year company who specializes in Volvo cars.  IPD has been working with Volvo enthusiasts around the world since 1963 providing high quality aftermarket parts, accessories, and exclusive items.  

We are looking for a motivated individual who incorporates good communication and organization skills, attention to detail, and holds honesty and integrity in high regard. IPD has a strong value system and we expect the same from each one of our employees.  IPD fosters an environment that is fun and flexible.  You don’t have to be a car enthusiast to work here, but it’s not uncommon for our passion to rub off on you and eventually get you into a Volvo!  IPD’s Customer Service has been our foundation for nearly 60 years.  In this vital role you will be responsible for ensuring our customers receive prompt, courteous and professional attention to product inquiries, order placement and maintenance. 

Ultimately we’re looking for individuals who have a desire to learn and possibly add a valuable experience to your resume or grow within our company. 

 

Customer Service Responsibilities include

  • Answering phones assisting customer with questions about products and product maintenance
  • Responding to emails regarding product questions and maintenance
  • Engage with customers via enthusiast forums and online communities
  • Engage with customer via IPD social media platforms and channels
  • Assist local walk-in customers with product questions and order maintenance
  • Communicate with warehouse regarding order maintenance and special inquiries
  • Assist Marketing department in sales promotions and inquiries
  • Assist product team with any technical issues, questions, or product offering additions 

Job Skills Required

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Patience and professionalism are crucial attributes
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • A strong desire and ability to learn and retain information
  • You should be able to navigate basic computer systems and internet applications
  • Familiarity with automotive industry is a plus, particularly Volvo cars is important however education and assistance with mastering the nuances of the Volvo brand will be continuously provided

Job Specifics

We are hiring part time and full time customer service representatives who report daily from 8:15am-5pm Monday-Friday.  You will be teamed with other customer service representatives.
